Today is a sad day for the old crew. My old supervisor is leaving. About 1 month ago our small office of around 30 people finally moved in with the rest of the company-around 300 people. I say finally because a year ago the small firm that I started with merged (whatever) with this huge firm. Small firms are just like family. Big firms are not. Anyway, not the point of my post-that could be a whole other entry entirely.
Although we acquired "casual Friday" when we merged, there were many things lost along the way. Included in this loss is many cool people. People just weren't prepared to sell their souls for the mighty dollar. My old supervisor hired me, taught me the ins and outs, and acted as our Office Manager throughout the merger. She was a great leader and friend. She is honestly one of the nicest, most caring people I have ever met. She had been with the old firm 16 years. She'll be working on another floor in our building, so we can still see her occasionally. We sure will miss her and wish her the best of luck in her new "dream job".
