Losers

We have a little softball team at work. Well, mostly people from work, some ringers were brought in from outside the firm. We had a team last season also, the "Sharks". Last season we paid our own way, got shirts, practiced once a week, and lost all of our damn games. A few we only lost by a couple of runs, but lost anyway. It was pretty bad and team morale was low. Now we're the "Bombers". This season we got the company to sponsor us, changed our name , didn't get shirts, only a few people show up for practice, changed the night that we play on and we're
1-1. Go figure.

Tonight we play the best team in the league. Seriously, their girls are better than most of our dudes. So we're pretty much preparing for the loss, hoping that we don't get 15 run-ruled because that would just be embarrassing. We've come up with a strategy this morning at work: make some outs and get some hits. That's it. Nothing fancy. But, you'd be surprised how we can mess this up. It's like the domino effect out there. So, here's hoping our beer stays cold and that we don't get 15 run-ruled.
